The Gravel Rush Hall of Fame

If you would like to feature on the Gravel Rush hall of fame, all you need to do is…

2017

On 5th March 2017, twelve riders set off on the Gravel Rush routes, despite a pretty grim weather forecast. Only four ventured over Salter Fell to Wray, where a stop at Bridge House Farm was welcomed to warm up and refuel! Those on the intro route had a great ride through a busy Gisburn forest before weaving home through undulating country lanes, farm tracks and the odd (ridiculously!) muddy field.

There were no takers for 100 miles, but a few murmurings about having a crack at it in better weather were overheard in the cafe afterwards!

£95.85 was collected on the day for North west Air Ambulance and a few riders made additional donations via their just giving page.

I’m looking forward to verifying my first 100miler and starting up this ‘Hall of Fame’!

It’s a hilly route with just short of 10 off road miles on gravel roads, manmade trails and bridleway around the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland.

This route is intended for a reasonably fit road cyclist looking to start riding off road, the trails we have selected are fun and engaging but quite easily manageable!
